…you land @ 2am, the airport is empty and all is peaceful. Then you take your time to put the protective covers on the airplane b/c it makes no difference if you get home @ 2:30 or 2:45am — you just want to make sure that your airplane is safe. Then you take one last look back and recall when you used to stare for hours at jets, meanwhile you were just trying to figure out how to land a Cessna. And then you realize that you’ve come a long way, survived a challenging journey and have positively influenced people’s lives. And you are satisfied for the moment, until your next flight.
